Gymnastics

Talk about going to gymnastics with somebody who could not listen. Emma had a great time (too great of a time) at Spirit Express gymnastics tryout but she will not take turns. She’ll be on the trampoline jumping while other little girls were doing their routines. Emma was suppose to sit on the sideline till it is her turn but nooooo, she had to jump on the side with the girls. Then of course, when it came time for her to do it, she wouldn’t. When asked to get down or to quit jumping she would just look at me and she’d say, “no.” Urgh! Imagine how many time outs she got that hour!

Emma did learn though. She wouldn’t do them in class but at home she’s been walking backwards and also trying to do the splits. She loves gymnastics but I think we’ll wait another few weeks. We’re going to try practicing taking turns and just listening in general. She’s very stubborn. I think she got that from her daddy. I will try dance class… or hip-hop class. Emma loves hip-hop, and pop, and rock, and country, and jazz, and oldies. She doesn’t care. You should she her dance. She looked like a robot moving from side to side. If not she’ll run around in circles while moving her hands and head. Mom usually has to join so if you were a fly on the wall you’d see these two girls, a little one and another one too old for those kind of movements, dancing like crazy to Dora the Explorer.
