November News…
Wow, it’ll be our 4th year here in Missouri next month. Can’t believe it since we only planned for two. We just built a house and I want to be at UCM for at least five years so that I can get some retirement. At least two more years and we’d probably be ready to go… unless something better comes along of course…
Life has been so chaotic since we moved. The whole moving process is just tiring. We’re still painting rooms and no curtains yet. We’ll get there… slowly… We did do something fun though, went to Hermann MO for Octoberfest. It’s a really nice town with small antique shops, B&B, and just a general beautiful area. We had some drinks, brats, and just a good time with the family. It was a nice break from our usual day-to-day lives. We only stayed there for a day, next time we’ll stay there for a weekend.
Too many things going on, at least for me. I need to slow down but it’s so hard. I feel like I’m wasting time if I don’t do a lot of things at one time. So frustrating cause I do love to relax and just read. I’ve been thinking about doing my Ph.D. program but it’s probably not something I’d do soon. Maybe when Emma’s older and we’re in an area that has a research university. I think I want to go back to psychology, social/cognitive and have my own practice one day. Not sure, we’ll see. I need to practice doing research first.
This Thanksgiving we’re not doing much. Probably just a family Thanksgiving which I think will be a nice change. We’ve always had people over and even though it’s fun, it’s a lot of work. Maybe I make it like it’s a lot of work cause I always want to go for the gusto and decorate and cook and use real dinnerware but I don’t party much so when I do, I like it to be nice… Martha Stewardish :D Ok, I’m not that good but I try. BUT, we are planning an open house after Christmas. We had a small (last minute) house warming party with Drew’s co-workers but we haven’t done one for my side and our friends and old neighbors. So the next one will be a party that I will coordinate so need to be thinking about refreshments, decorations, music, etc. Man, I think I need another job… this party planning thing is fun!!
Oh, I want to show you a card that I made for my co-worker. She was the host of her friend’s bridal shower and she asked me to make the invite. I love the invite!!! [thumb:895:l][thumb:900:l][thumb:899:l][thumb:898:l][thumb:896:l][thumb:894:l]
I am addicted to paper craft!!! If I didn’t have a job, that’s probably what I’d be doing. Actually Drew said if we move again and I’m still jobless, I can do the Stampin Up thing – although I want to start next year cause they have A LOT of cute stuff right now!!!
Ok, enough for now… laters…
