SecondLife
Hmm… to like or not to like, that is the question. I have been so swamped at work. Between developing two sites, on in ColdFusion and the other in PHP, and the new Office 2007 training next month, I really have no time to really get into the SL developers group or even look at Linden Scripting.
Last week the University of Central Missouri officially has a SL island, Selmo Park. Nobody’s really ready to take on a new project. The person who purchased and is the current sys. admin is no developer. Those who can develop has first life duties. So SL is just going to come in second place. On top of that, before the purchase, we never really got to talking about policies, design, how we’re going to work as a team, how the training will be, talk about pedagogy, learn about the current learning tools/places and not just the technical part of SL, bla bla. So now we have an island but no work done to it. Also, I’m curious to see what kind of access we all have. It’s suppose to be a collaboration but the sys. admin is known to keep all to himself and only give a little bit of access to others. So we’ll see.
I’ll post my avatar sometimes. I think she’s somewhat like me. Taller, which I didn’t realize until recently but quite close for an avatar. I’ll make her shorter :D
My class is doing well I think. I think my students are having fun and learning (I hope). I was told that I might teach another course this spring. Online I hope. But we’ll see. If it’s a lot of lab time I don’t mind teaching face-to-face. I’d hate it to be a night course, what the hell am I going to say and make them do for almost three hours? I’d start gathering stories, like some of my instructors, ha!
I better go to sleep. Need to drive to KC in the a.m. for a fun two days of CF training. It’ll be nice, just Holly and me… with the instructor of course. So we can go our pace and stop wherever. Can’t wait for lunch, Indian!! :D
