Travel Gears
By the end of the day, we’ll have all the gears that we need (we hope) for our upcoming trip. The last item we received yesterday was our CARES airline system. Very nice item and seems simple to use. I need to watch the video still but from looking at it, it looks pretty self explanatory. There are picture instructions on the belt itself. Reviews when we return. If you’ve been reading our previous blog entry, you’ll know that we rented this item from an Ebay seller. Dianne Wood is the person I’ve been in contact with, she’s the seller, and she’s wonderful. Fast (even on vacation) responses and the item came as promised and in great condition. If you travel infrequently with a toddler, I recommend you get in touch with this person. Read the disclaimers and make sure you are ok with the requirements. They’re not tough, just common courtesy, just like if you were to borrow something from anybody or vise versa.
Let me see… we have our locks for our luggages. Yes, you can lock your luggages. I always do, especially on International travels. Just make sure they are TSA approved locks. This means that the people checking your bags has special keys that will fit into these different locks. They’ll unlock, check, leave their kind note in, and relock the bags. Nice.
Emma’s stroller, the MacLaren Volo, and vest is cool too. We haven’t used the vest much. She said it’s comfy but I’ll report back on this upon our return since we need more in-depth trials before commenting. The stroller she loves. She picked out the color herself and we took it to the Plaza last weekend. Drew was the one pushing. He loves it too because he doesn’t have to slouch and kick the wheels every so often. We didn’t just buy this stroller for the trip. Our old one broke and Drew hates it. Short and you trip over the wheels every so often. This, even though it’s a little high for an umbrella stroller, is worth every penny. Super light too. We were looking at the Volo and the Triumph but the Volo was lighter and even though it doesn’t recline, we bought it. The good news is that even though it doesn’t recline, it’s still more comfortable than the typical umbrella. It’s got quite an angle the way it is and Emma is super comfy in it. She definitely loves her stroller.
Really excited. The day is coming closer and closer. We have my in-laws watching the Shady and our neighbors looking after the house. We are lucky to have a friend stay there too.
