Max, Training the Lhasa

Yesterday, while Emma was rummaging through the closet looking for some footwear before school, she found a penny. We then had the following conversation (more less):

E: Mommy, look what I found!
M: Cool, Emma. What are you going to do with the penny?
E: I’m going to put it in my purse.
M: Em, you can bring money to school. Lets just put it in the piggy bank for now.
E: I just want to put it in my purse.
M: Ok, but leave the purse at home.
E: Ok, but mommy, I need more money for my purse.
M: Mommy doesn’t have any money Emma.
E: If you go to work, you can make me more money.
M: (speechless)

Ahhh… now I know why she lets me go to work :\

[thumb:1494:l] So Max… Very proud of him today. Not because he stood in front of the door asking to go piss. Yeah, right! That’s still months (maybe). At least he pisses for me, that’s all that matters for now. He won’t piss for Drew :D But today, we were doing some training and he did so well. He did “sit” so perfectly and this is our second formal session (no interruption, all serious, and training collar) and even our first one was just 5-10 minutes (I read that the Lhasa training needs to be short because they have very short attention span). I haven’t tested to see if he would sit without a training collar (the one with the teeth) but he does it right on command thus far with a collar. He also responds to his name very well. So now we’re going to add on, “stay” and “relax.” He’s doing so well with the leash too. He only pulls sometimes and he’ll come back when I make a noise and pull his leash gently. I think he knows that I’m the pack leader. We’re not doing “heel” yet. I just want him to get used to the leash and just walking with me.

[thumb:1487:r]Back to Drew… not sure why Max wouldn’t potty with him. I did tell Drew of Max’s favorite pee spot. He ALWAYS pee there for me but not for Drew. So each time Drew took Max out, Max wouldn’t pee and soon after they come in the house, before Drew sticks him back in the crate, Max would pee in front of the crate. So maybe he’s just not following my potty directions (previous post) right or dogs reacts differently to each person when trained but those two don’t get a long in the potty training area.

I’m going to bed now. I feel good. I taught Max a few words of English :D
