Does Your Cat Drool?

Savitri

Ours does. We have this outside cat, who sometimes comes in, that we are feeding and taking care of (we even neutered him, tick medicate him with the good stuff, and gave him his shots… or the vet did). He’s really sweet, tolerates the dogs super well, but he’s no lap cat. He’s actually a male version of a bitch (does this make him an asshole?) and plain refuse to be held or cuddled on demand. Drew can hold him for a few seconds but not me. I have a tattoo on my chest… “remember my claw, Simba Boy.”

Really, we shouldn’t even spoil this thing. He’s suppose to JUST live outside, catch mouse, and we leave him food. But no, last winter he suckered me into letting him in the house when it was freezing cold outside and this summer he slept in the house when it was just too hot out there. Now, he comes in and out as he pleases and I felt the need to feed him better.

From the “whatever is on sale” food at WalMart the cat has moved up to Nutro Choice Complete. Ok, so not the best, but you can’t just move from McDonalds to gourmet in one sitting. Plus, he’s NOT giving me anything back in return. If he can just love me back, sit on my lap, and let me carry him around, I would give him canned food or raw homemade food (yes, I did say homemade), but he’s not. That’s why Nutro is as good as it will ever get.

What’s interesting is that this cat just LOVES this food. He’d drool over the stupid thing. One day Drew was pouring the food onto his bowl and Simba’s paw started helping out with the process. It’s so funny watching his little saliva dripping on the feeding table. Wow!

So yes, he’ll be on Nutro or the type even though in reality cat needs better food than this. Nutro is considered super-premium but it’s at the very bottom of the totem pole, least it doesn’t use corn as the first ingredient (it’s bad!). Compare to some others, like Wellness, Nutro is not very good.
