After Christmas

I’m suppose to be sleeping but I thought I’d pop in and write a bit.

We had a nice Christmas. Emma got everything she wanted. She wanted three things from Santa, a sleeping bag, a cash register, and a computer. From mom and dad, she just wanted us to give to other kids who are less fortunate, so we adopted three this year, but of course we felt odd not giving her anything although she insisted and so I got her a little robe, some Bratz Kids clothes, and a little dress from Hanna Andersson. Daddy got her a few movies. Drew got a lot of what he wanted for his hobby and I got a few new gadgets and stamps too.

The dogs had a great time too. Shady loves opening presents. She got two new toys and a big nyla snack. Max got the same too but he did not get the whole opening presents concept. But he did love the presents. For both, we also got them a new bed. They’re not really into it yet, but gradually getting there.

Besides opening presents and breakfast, we didn’t do much today. I wanted to do some stamping but the room was too messy so I ended up organizing and cleaning my “craft” room while Drew cleaned windows and tidied up our mess (he’s better at it than I am). Emma just ran around all day in her robe, watched 15 minutes of her movies, and either played shopping and kitchen or cut papers. All day her mouth has been constantly producing sound. We thought she’d nap or watch her movies but no, she’d go in her sleeping bag, watched a movie for five minutes, and do something else. Here and there she’d watch to see the show but it’ll just be a minute or two at the most. One time, not sure what the conversation was, but she said something like, “mommy likes to go shopping at the hippie store.” What? Where’d she learn that? I asked Drew later and he said no, he never said anything like that. So he asked her where mommy likes to shop and with a giggle she said the hippie store. Wow! Oh well.

We’re going to Lexington tomorrow. They are having a lot of Christmas and antique sales. If we don’t find anything that we must have, it’s always enjoyable to go there. Then in the evening we’ll have a Christmas dinner at our place. We’ll have 8 adults and 4 kids. It’ll be fun. Hope everybody had a nice Christmas too!
