Day 48: Asbestos Mouth

by: Savitri

I love spicy hot food. The hotter it is the better. There’s a Thai restaurant here in town and they know that my hot rating is always a 10. They know that Drew’s my husband and when he comes in they always know to make it hot if it’s for me. IF the food itself is not hot I like to add anything that makes food hot. My favorites are Thai chilis and habanero. I’ll eat it straight, just like below… munching through this little habanero while eating some fried rice. Drew calls me asbestos mouth. Now, you think it’s cause I’m Indonesian. No, not really. Some Indonesians don’t like it spicy and many don’t like them as spicy as I do. I guess I do have asbestos mouth.

Day 47: Vintage Toys

by: Savitri

Drew likes cars and we both like old stuff (that’s probably why Drew likes me, cause I’m vintage, ha!) and this is just one of the things we have around our house. I have no info on the car except that it looks cool {::SMILE}.

Day 46: Baby Food

by: Savitri

Bombarding you with days of photo updates since my computers are all sick… So here’s day 46. I make Jovie’s baby food. And Emma’s when she was a baby. We do buy pre-made food but we only use them when we’re traveling or we forgot to grab some before we leave the house. We just think that it’s better and we know exactly what’s in our kids’ stomach. It doesn’t take long to make either and when they get to 8-months, like what Jovie is now, I can add more spices.

This one is potatoes, sweet peas, and grass fed ground beef with a clove of garlic sauteed in olive oil. After all is done I put it in a blender and store in ice cube trays to freeze. That night I made this dish and also a tofu, carrots dish a dash of ginger dish. For fruits I blended up some pears and apples. I now have enough food for 1-2 weeks. Besides the above, in the same week, she’d also eats bananas and avocado. I don’t blend those, I just scrape them with a fork and feed her. Jovie also have been eating yogurt and loves plain tofu. She’s also of the age to eat them raw so I’ll just mash up a bit of tofu and feed her for snacks. She gets a variety of things; she loves her meals!
