Day 48: Asbestos Mouth

Savitri

I love spicy hot food. The hotter it is the better. There’s a Thai restaurant here in town and they know that my hot rating is always a 10. They know that Drew’s my husband and when he comes in they always know to make it hot if it’s for me. IF the food itself is not hot I like to add anything that makes food hot. My favorites are Thai chilis and habanero. I’ll eat it straight, just like below… munching through this little habanero while eating some fried rice. Drew calls me asbestos mouth. Now, you think it’s cause I’m Indonesian. No, not really. Some Indonesians don’t like it spicy and many don’t like them as spicy as I do. I guess I do have asbestos mouth.

My father was the person that coined “asbestos mouth”. He tried some of the hot sauce we eat and had a hard time with it. That almost ruined his meal and mine. Mine mostly because I couldn’t stop laughing at asbestos mouth sitting across from me.
