Day 52: My Dinosaur

by: Savitri

I’ve been using my old Dell from work since last Friday. All my computers broke. The iMac completely died and my newer work laptop randomly turns on and even when it’s on you never know when it’ll freeze up. While this Dell does what it needs to do it’s amazing that what I thought was so fast and great years ago is so slow and lacking a lot of power.

My iMac and laptop is being fixed. Hopefully I can get one of them back soon. In the meantime, it’s me and this dinosaur.

Day 51: Scrap Weekend

by: Savitri

I think I’m going to try and scrapbook every weekend. Those who knows me and my craziness for papercrafting/scrapbooking probably think I already do this regularly but I actually don’t. I get on spurts and I get behind. This one is my latest. So far I’ve been scrapbooking every weekend for the last two weeks!

I’m noticing that I’ve been doing better at sticking to my goals. I am still doing Project 365. Doing P90x when I can but so far it’s been consistent (although lately Jovie’s been waking up at 11p again), and hopefully this scrappy weekend.

Day 50: Yoga

by: Savitri

And it ain’t Savitri doing it! After doing the P90x for a few weeks (stopped a week due to technical difficulties) I do not like the yoga part. It’s too slow and my brain cannot take it. Doing the same thing over and over again and holding a pose for lots of seconds have just been torture. I LOVE the cardio, arms, legs, and abs workout, but no likey the yoga for me!

M though… between seeing me do the P90x, some YouTube videos, and remembering the picture of her little penpal Sofi doing it with her mommy she came up with this pose:

If you’re wondering, the black bars on the left and behind her are the legs of my photography lighting equipment. I kept asking her to scoot forward so not to hit them. Best Christmas presents from hubby!!!

Day 49: Veggie Pita

by: Savitri

When I was with my previous husband him and I tried the vegetarian living. He was in it longer but while it lasted for me I came up with this little sandwich. Years have gone and this still is one of my favorite thing to eat for lunch. What’s in it?

In the pita bread (this one is whole wheat) I put:

  • hummus
  • sprouts
  • tofu (I like to saute it first with olive oil)
  • avocado
  • green onions

LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Very easy and very healthy too.

Day 48: Asbestos Mouth

by: Savitri

I love spicy hot food. The hotter it is the better. There’s a Thai restaurant here in town and they know that my hot rating is always a 10. They know that Drew’s my husband and when he comes in they always know to make it hot if it’s for me. IF the food itself is not hot I like to add anything that makes food hot. My favorites are Thai chilis and habanero. I’ll eat it straight, just like below… munching through this little habanero while eating some fried rice. Drew calls me asbestos mouth. Now, you think it’s cause I’m Indonesian. No, not really. Some Indonesians don’t like it spicy and many don’t like them as spicy as I do. I guess I do have asbestos mouth.
