Day 72: Baby Backpack
Well, this was what I’ve been doing for the most part today. I’ve been getting the house more ready for the movers with Jovie on my back. She loves it. She’ll just hum or chew on a toy that I’d give her. Our pick-up is scheduled for Wednesday (although I do need to call to confirm) for the big household move. Then first week of April we have the unaccompanied baggage (800lbs of frequently used stuff is what the base told me — it gets to the UK a tad bit faster, by 15 or so days) and a week before we leave they’ll pick-up storage stuff. Since we’re moving overseas we’re allowed all the above as long as we don’t go over the 11k pounds weight limit. We don’t have a lot of big stuff and so we think we’re way below that… the walk through guy said more less 8k is what he’s seeing. We’re also allowed to mail things. As long as we keep the receipt and of course we still haven’t gone over the 11k pounds limit we get the money reimbursed. It’s pretty sweet!
The house is a disaster. I’ve been doing laundry, putting stuff in original boxes, and labeling “no” on cabinets that holds our small 110v appliances, the bathrooms, and my closet. I think it’s just easier if I put everything from those rooms out for them to pack than having them come dump each drawer into a box. I think it’ll be neater too when we opened these knick-knack boxes.
If you’re wondering the baby carrier is a Beco Butterfly II. I love it although if Jovie was any bigger I’d be bitching about carrying her around all day long he he…
