Hi!

by: Savitri

Wow, it’s been a while since I posted here. I’ve been having too much fun in my other blog, www.scrapbit.com, making cards and scrapbook pages.

What’s new… nothing really. Just been really busy with work, school, and family. Drew got an A in economics, yeah!!! He’s been really good at explaining the whole economic imbalance with with. The me who’s freaking out about the recession and quite depressed each time I look to see how much $$ we’ve lost today in the stock market.

Well, M’s birthday is coming soon. So we’re busy getting her princess party together. Laters and if you have time, visit my other blog. It’s more fun. Actually I’m thinking of letting Drew take over this. He’s so much funnier than me. You’d have great laughs when you visit.

No Mood to Write

by: Savitri

There’s not much to write about.
We’re so busy.
Drew’s swamped with school and upcoming test.
Savitri is finishing up a class and getting ready for two spring ones.
Emma think Santa is going to come tomorrow.
We’re quite happy.
The family’s doing great.
The pup is learning and growing.
The dog and cat plays.
I’ve got Christmas stuff all over the living room.
Not motivated to finish decorating.
Can I just sit and not do anything? :)

Just a Little Hello

by: Savitri

It’s the end of the month. Wow! My summer class was over last Friday which means that summer will be over soon. Ahhh, where did the time go? I have two fall classes again this year and one will be really fun. We’ll play with current web technology and putting them into use in the classrooms. Maybe it’ll be so fun I’ll have more students next year :D This is the first time I’m teaching this course. It’ll be online too, so I’ll actually be in Indonesia, Germany, and Singapore when these courses happen.

It’s been a few weeks now too since Kato left us. We still miss him. But we buried him in front of our home, so we get to see him everyday. We have almost 3.5 acres and there’s a little hill between the house and the road and that’s where he lies. I love him! Shady is still somewhat sad we think. She’s getting better, not as bad as the first few days but not the old Shady as of yet. Who knows when we’ll get another dog. I’m still researching which is best for us, but we are 75% sure that we’ll be fostering after we come back from our trip (very soon!!).

There’s this shelter in KC, Wayside Waifs, that seems to have a good foster program. We’re going to try it and see what we think of fostering. Hopefully we won’t want to keep all the animals that we get :D

So this site of ourse… hmmm… I’m trying to think of ways to make it better. I mean it does get boring reading about us all the time but I just haven’t had the time to really do much. Even the layout is a template and I’m a web designer/developer. Eeek! We’ll see. Maybe after the trip I’ll have some inspiration and make the reading material more worthwhile and not just be a place for our family and friends to keep in touch and see how we’re doing here.

Eeek…

by: Savitri

April is almost over! Wow, time is flying by. But at the same time, it’s feeling oh so sloooooow.

We’re going to Indonesia this August and I know I am very excited. Drew and Emma will go too and this will be their first time that my family will meet them. After three years, Drew is finally ok about going. He’s finally convinced that if something bad is going to happen to us, it will happen anyways, no matter where we’re at. He’s always so protective of us, and that’s very sweet of him, but at the same time I really need to visit my family. So I’m hoping that everything will be alright and we’ll be able to return in one piece and breathing. We already booked the tickets, we have dates and all that wonderful stuff, but haven’t purchased them. Which is really convenient because the base has to give us a thumbs up or down on the trip. This is the part that sucks. So, there’s a chance that we might not be able to go if the base thinks that it’s too dangerous.
