Happy New Year everybody. Hope it’ll be a great one for all of you!!!
Went to MS for the holiday break. Had a good time and we met up with a few friends. They’re Drew’s old time buddies from school and youth group and of course his friend Scott and Jeff. We had plans on meeting up with more but time was too short. Had to go back to work for Savitri.
Emma got lots of presents and she’s very happy. Â [thumb:980:c:l=g]

I hate shopping. Especially Christmas shopping. Wait, rewind…. I love shopping, but I hate going shopping. At this point I’m almost leaning towards 100% online shopping. The shipping seems worth all the hassle of driving, finding a parking spot, fighting the crowd, not finding the item (oh, but it is available if you order it online), and having sore feet.
Today I went to the city, alone, to get some Savitri time and also to finish up the shopping. Called yesterday and the toy is available. When I got there, of course they’re all gone. Went to PBK, and again the one I needed was not in stock. I walked around the Plaza for an hour and left with a $7.50 shirt from TCP. I spent more at Joann’s. Stopped there for some fabric and ended up with some chalk, a blending pen, and water color pens… yes, they’re pens. Suppose to be “NOT MESSY.” We’ll see, right?
I think I was starting to hate the consumerism of Christmas. Christmas is suppose to be the birth of Christ, not the maxing out of the credit card season. When I was growing up Christmas was going to church and sometimes we’d exchange one gift. Now, it’s ok if you have the money and you want to buy a lot of stuff. The one I have a problem with are people who doesn’t have the money. So I was at the store and this lady was talking to her partner. Basically they’re broke but her cart didn’t have any indication of their financial situation. She said she’ll just charge them. Ahh…. This was interesting because I just read an article, either MSN or Yahoo on how people would charge their Christmas purchases, get their bill in February and spend the rest of the year paying it off. Wow!
I went to B&N after too but decided that there’s nothing really worth buying. I did get a latte, but that was it. I thought that I’d save a bit buying them online, free shipping too, and save a few penny. Leaving B&N I decided that I really want to be a financial consultant, I need to get my business started this break, think I should take up hand writing analysis as a hobby, be more successful career wise, and save more. I need to be more ambitious and be more discipline with myself. I think that’s my new year’s resolution.

I made the best Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey was really juicy and tasty. I also made homemade cranberry sauce. Way better than the canned ones and it was super easy to make.
What was on the menu?
Turkey – of course
Green bean casserole
Mashed potatoes
Stuffings
Corn
Gravy
Rolls
Pumpkin pie
The only thing that wasn’t homemade were the rolls. Maybe next time. My only one complaint was that the stuffing was saltier than I had wanted. I used butter in the stuffings and I also buttered and salted inside the turkey. So it was a double wammy. Not bad but could have been better with less salt.
Next year I want to invite my people. This year we had Drew’s people over.

Welcome to our blog site!!! Here you will find (hopefully) up-to-date information on Savitri and Andrew’s little family in Missouri. We are an Air Force family, so many of our family and friends are not near. To keep in touch and to see how things are going with us we came up with this site.
Today I have decided to add some Podcast. What’s that? Well Podcasts are audio/audio files that are automatically downloaded to your computer. Do you have to have an iPod? No. You just need to install a podcast receiver on your computer. But, if you do have a portable device (e.g. iPod), you can transfer the downloaded files to your portable. Some of my files are not all iPod friendly, so if you use iTunes, you might not get some of my none iTunes friendly extension. I like to use iPodder or now called Juice.
How do you set it up? Well, download a podcast reader first. Then you want to copy this url: http://www.planetwilder.com/?feed=rss2 and paste it into your reader. This tells your reader that you want to subscribe to my page. You can subscribe to many other podcast, like CNN and Comedy Central. You can learn French or Excel, etc. Each time you open your receiver your computer will automatically download new files. So if I have a new video/audio, you automatically receive the file without going to my site. It’s like your magazine subscription… no more buying it at the store, you get the magazine delivered to your doorstep!!
